The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu, has criticized the leadership of the Ghana Police Service over the chaos that erupted during the Council of State election on Tuesday.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. Nukpenu accused the police of unprofessionalism in carrying out their duties, citing a weak leadership structure.

He stated that he would never entrust any political organization to the police under the leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

Mr. Nukpenu further called for the removal of all members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) to restore the service’s dignity.

His comments follow claims that he disrupted the election with thugs, an allegation he denied. According to him, he was only at the venue to ensure a smooth process and played a role in preventing chaos.
