NCIC, KBC to launch town halls aimed at fostering national unity

Published 1 month ago1 minute read

A key component of the plan is a two-year memorandum of understanding with Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) to promote trans-generational dialogue among Kenyans.

As part of the agreement, the two organisations will host town halls over the next two years in all 47 counties, with the goal of promoting peace and fostering national unity.

During the signing ceremony at KBC offices, Managing Director Agnes Kalekye called on Kenyans to actively engage in the town hall discussions, confirming that they would be broadcast across KBC’s television, radio, and online platforms.

She emphasised the crucial role that media plays in promoting peace in Kenya.

NCIC Acting Chief Executive Officer Harrison Kariuki, in his remarks, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to fostering trans-generational conversations to bridge divisions in the country, particularly in the wake of the Gen Z protests that marked last year’s demonstrations.
