North Florida women’s basketball proudly announces the addition of Stacey Ungashick as associate head coach to the Osprey staff, as announced by head coach Erika Lambert on Friday afternoon. “Stacey and I have known each other for over a decade. I got an inside look at the start of her Ohio Wesleyan program when my family lived in Columbus in 2013. Over the years, I witnessed her work hard to return OWU Basketball to a place of national prominence,” said Lambert. “I hired Stacey because she’s a builder. She knows how to grow a program. She’s especially skilled in the sports psychology space that is so important to building our program from a culture and leadership standpoint.” “On the court, Stacey will work with our guards and focus on the defensive side of the ball. Off the court, she will oversee academics, fundraising and alumni relations, and community service,” Lambert continued. “Stacey will implement some new programming for our players from a mental training and leadership perspective. She will be a tremendous mentor to our student-athletes. Stacey played college ball in the Sunshine State and we’re happy to welcome her back!” Ungashick Lobdell joins the UNF coaching staff after serving as the head coach at Ohio Wesleyan over the past 14 seasons from 2011-25 with a 189-175 (.519) overall record and a 95-31 (.754) mark over the past five seasons. On top of her head coaching experience in her hometown of Delaware, Ohio, she also served as an assistant coach for four seasons at Ohio Wesleyan, as well as 12 seasons coaching at the high school level. “I’m incredibly thankful to join Coach Erika Lambert and the UNF community. I look forward to bringing my experience to a program deeply committed to the student-athlete experience and the pursuit of both academic and athletic excellence,” said Ungashick Lobdell. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside Coach Lambert as we build a championship culture. Coaching is a true honor, and I’m grateful for the chance to positively impact the next generation of student-athletes at UNF.” Ungashick Lobdell led Ohio Wesleyan this past season by running the table in North Coast Athletic Conference and winning the conference championship with a 14-0 record. Her team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and advanced to the sectional semifinals as one of the final 16 teams with a 25-4 overall record. Ohio Wesleyan shared the NCAC Championship title in 2023-24, which was the first conference championship for the Bishops since 2000-01. They advanced to the title game of the NCAC Tournament and received an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III tournament advancing to the second round. From 2021-23, the Bishops went a combined 39-18 overall under Ungashick Lobdell with back-to-back top-three finishes in the NCAC. This included two championship game appearances, including a conference title to make their first NCAA Division III playoff appearance since the 2008-09 season. During the 2015-16 season, Ungashick Lobdell’s Bishops recorded a.383 mark from three-point range to lead all NCAA Division III teams. Ohio Wesleyan went 18-9 overall in 2013-14 for her first winning season at the helm highlighted by ending DePauw’s 58-game win streak and handing them their first-ever NCAC setback. Prior to taking over the head coaching reins at Ohio Wesleyan, she served as an assistant women’s basketball coach for the Bishops over four seasons from 2007-11. She helped her hometown team compile a record of 46-16 in NCAC play during that span, including a 14-2 mark in 2009-10. Ungashick Lobdell got her start at Ohio Wesleyan after coaching for over a decade at the high school level at (Bristol) Tennessee High School, Holston (Va.) High School, Lakeland (Fla.) High School, and her alma mater, Delaware Hayes High School. In seven years as head coach at Delaware Hayes, her teams won three conference championships, seven sectional titles and reached the district semifinals seven times, while also being honored as a three-time selection as Ohio Capital Conference Coach of the Year. Overall, Ungashick Lobdell led her teams to five conference titles, three district championships, and one regional crown. She has been named conference coach of the year six times and was a three-time district coach of the year selection. Ungashick Lobdell is a graduate of Florida Southern College, where she was a four-time First Team All-Sunshine State Conference selection and led the Moccasins in scoring all four seasons. She totaled 1,786 points during her career, ranking sixth on the program’s all-time scoring list, while also ranks in the top five in assists (441) and steals (269) and sixth in scoring average (16.2), field goals (688), and three-point field goal percentage (.352).
