NBA - "Nikola Jokic is an uglier version of me, but I'd still date him"

With three MVP awards and an NBA championship under his belt, it’s impossible to question his basketball skills. Nikola Jokic has put everyone on the NBA planet in agreement about his level. Including this season, during which he delivered historic performances and unprecedented statistics, even if all this didn’t enable him to win his duel with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

On the other hand, one of his attributes has regularly earned him criticism since his arrival in the league, namely his physical condition. Long judged to be out of shape enough to win a ring, the Serbian pivot finally proved the contrary, without really making any great effort on this point. It also happens that his appearance is mentioned in debates about him that are, to say the least, debatable.

Host of the Dudes on Dudes podcast and a true legend of American soccer, Rob Gronkowski recently spoke about the Jokic case. It was an opportunity for him to express his admiration, but not only:

I love Jokic, he’s my favorite NBA player. And I love the comparison that I’d be a lot like him if I played basketball. When I see the way he moves on the court, even though he’s taller than me, I think we make a few of the same moves.

So far, so good, even if some NBA and NFL fans might question the parallel. However, the Gronk wasn’t done, and followed up with an even more puzzling rapprochement:

Even when you look at his physical appearance: he’s got a big nose, I’ve got a big nose too… I don’t really want to say this, but he’s kind of an uglier version of me. But I’d still go out with him if I were a pretty girl! Anyway, someone told me he was an uglier version of me, and I thought I’d have to agree.

While he may not appreciate this testimonial, the Joker can hope that this dubious comparison with the legendary American tight end will continue in the future. At the end of his career, he must hope to have a similar record to the latter, who won no less than four Super Bowls. But for that to happen, the Nuggets may have to offer him a partner in crime worthy of Tom Brady.
