NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving Shares His Excitement on Being a Shaq's OG

The

NBA All-Star Weekend

is currently taking place in San Francisco, in the home arena of the

Golden State Warriors

. Day 1 of the weekend started on Valentine's Day - February 14 and will conclude with the All-Star Games on Sunday, February 16. Kyrie Irving, who got his 9th All-Star nomination this year, took his place for the weekend after his newest team member from the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Davis, had to withdraw because of an injury. And the 32-year-old shooting guard is looking forward to the games.

"Shaq's OGs" have a combined 86

All-Star nominations

among them. The top star is, of course, LeBron James, with 21 All-Star selections. Then comes Kevin Durant with 15,

Stephen Curry

and James Harden both with 11 nominations each, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving with 9, Jayson Tatum with 6, and Jaylen Brown with 4 nominations.

"That's where they're calling us in this locker room now."
Kyrie Irving looked to be in pretty good spirits backstage, calling himself the youngest of the OGs other than "JB," i.e., Jaylen Brown. He is feeling pretty good to be back in the All-Star Games, and we can understand his excitement for the Sunday game.

Sunday will be a bundle of excitement for

NBA

fans all around the world. First, we have the All-Star brunch, which will be filled with the basketball elites. This will be followed by the NBA G League Up Next Game. But then the real excitement starts.

NBA legends Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith selected their teams during the NBA All-Star Draft on February 6, 2025. And on Feb 16, their teams will face each other to secure a place in the Championship Game.
In the NBA All-Star Semifinal, Game 1 will be Kenny’s Young Stars vs. Chuck’s Global Stars. Game 2 will be Shaq’s OGs vs. Candace’s Rising Stars. And finally, we will have the Finals between the two semifinal winners. Most events from the Weekend will be available on TNT, truTV, NBA TV, Max, and ESPN+.
