Natives of Kpaduma, a community near Asokoro district, have called on the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to resettle people that their houses will be affected in the ongoing road project in the area within an identified area in the community.

Baba Yerima, the secretary and Madaki of Kpaduma, made the plea when Abuja Metro visited the community yesterday.

Yerima, who commended the FCT Minister for having a dialogue with the leaders of the community on the way forward said, ‘’What the people of the community want is for the affected natives, whose houses would be touched by the project to be relocated to an area already identified within the community.’’

He said his people would not appreciate anything short of their request as it would amount to them leaving their ancestral homes, including their forefathers’ graves to another strange community.

Also speaking, the youth leader in the community, said while his people welcome the developmental strides by the minister, such should be carefully done not to erode the history and culture of the people of the community.

He said, ‘’While we embrace the development, we should be resettled or integrated within our domain. The area we identified is within the settlement and we want him to designate that place for the relocation of the affected people.’’
