NAF Airstrikes Dismantle Improvised Explosive Device Factory, Gun Trucks in Timbuktu Triangle, Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Thursday said that the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has uncovered and dismantled an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) factory during air interdictions at Timbuktu Triangle in Borno State.
The Service also revealed that the airstrikes destroyed terrorist gun trucks and killed dozens of fighters in Kwaltiri, within the same Timbuktu Triangle, Borno State.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said: “The 18 June 2025 airstrikes followed intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area. Surveillance confirmed the presence of an IED-making site and vehicles, which were struck in precision passes by NAF aircraft.
“The operation is a major blow to terrorists’ fighting capabilities, as the successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control and logistics chains but also sent shockwaves through their ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum.”
Air Commodore Ejodame said that the successful airstrikes reinforce the NAF’s resolve to degrade terrorist capabilities and enhance security in the North East.
