Mudavadi argues that such a move could not only slow down preparations for the next general elections but also delay a number of by-elections.

Speaking Tuesday during the burial of Mzee William Lumati, in Malava Kakamega County, Mudavadi regretted that saboteurs who have gone to court are setting back the process of reconstituting IEBC, which has remained unconstituted   for two years.

The sentiments come a day after the High Court temporarily stopped the vetting process for President William Ruto’s IEBC chairperson nominee Erastus Ethekon and six others to the electoral body, following a petition by two citizens that raised questions over the legality of their selection.  The ruling is set to be delivered on May 29, 2025.
