A passing motorist quickly informed the police control room. Soon, police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and pulled Shaikh out of the water.He was taken to the Nair Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.An accidental death case has been filed at Gamdevi Police Station, and an investigation is underway, the official said.

The Coastal Road runs along Mumbai’s western shoreline, connecting Marine Drive to Worli.
