Motorcyclist dies in 'road rage' crash with pickup truck, police say - Newsday
A upstate man is charged with murder after, Nassau police said, he slammed his pickup truck into a motorcyclist on the South Service Road of the LIE in an apparent road rage incident on Friday afternoon.,
Brian Noll, 64, was driving a 2022 Ford pickup east on the South Service Road near New Hyde Park Road about 2:15 p.m. when. "an alteration ensued" between him and a 29-year-old man on a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle headed in the same direction, Nassau County police said in a news release.
Noll "intentionally swerved" into the motorcycle and pinned the rider against the guardrail, causing the motorcyclist severe bodily trauma, police said in the release. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 66-year-old female passenger in the truck with Noll who was not injured, police said.
Noll is from Scio, a town in Western New York with a population of 525 people as of the 2020 U.S. Census. Nassau police did not provide details about why he was in Long Island on Friday.
He is charged with second-degree murder and is set to be arraigned on Saturday in First District Court, Hempstead..
During a similar road rage incident in Queens earlier this month. 42-year-old Jordan Rosen was charged with second-degree murder after striking 55-year-old motorcyclist William McField on April 5. Rosen pleaded not guilty to that charge on Friday, according to the Queens District Attorney's Office.
