Mohammed Bajaber returned to his club to a befitting reception after an eventful couple of days with the national team.
Bajaber became an overnight darling of Kenyan football fans after he scored a beauty of a goal against the Gambia on Thursday last week.

It was the 22-year-old's first outing as a full Kenyan international, coming off the bench in the 62nd minute to replace Eric Johana. Harambee Stars were already trailing by two goals thanks to goals from Musa Barrow and Brighton star Yankuba Minteh.
Bajaber's debut started on the wrong footing as he was booked for a rough challenge five minutes after he was introduced.
However, eight minutes later, that all was forgotten after Eric 'Marcelo' Ouma found him in space. The attacking midfielder shimmied past one defender before planting his shot in the top corner.
The goal was even more aesthetically pleasing as it hit the upright first before ricocheting off the post before hitting the back of the net.
The Kenya Police player became an overnight sensation with many fans buying his jersey ahead of the Gabon game on Sunday. Head coach Benni McCarthy rewarded him with a start in front of a full-packed Nyayo National Stadium.
He wasn't as lucky to score this around as Kenya succumbed to a 2-1 loss but he still impressed with his work rate. He was taken off in the 86th minute for Masoud Juma as McCarthy attempted to find an equaliser.
Bajaber returned to his club Kenya Police on Monday where he was treated to a heroic reception by his teammates.
"The experience was good. I was able to change the game thankfully and we were able to earn a point," he said.
He also reflected on his start vs Gabon and playing in front of the many fans who flocked Nyayo Stadium.
"It was an honour to start vs Gabon. it is not every day you play for your country. I want to thank the fans for turning up the way they did. We would have loved to come out with a win but it is football. We were disappointed and next time we will try and get away with a win."
Bajaber will now be hoping to inspire his side to win the Kenya Premier League title. He joined Police FC from Nairobi City Stars in last month's transfer period for a reported fee of one million Kenya shillings.
The law enforcers lead the standings with 45 points after 24 games, one ahead of Tusker in second place.
Reigning champions Gor Mahia are third with 42 points but have played a game less than the first two teams. K'Ogalo has their biggest game of the season this weekend as they take on AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji derby.
Police play 14th-placed Posta Rangers on the same day while Tusker face Bidco United a day earlier. Police who are coached by Etienne Ndayiragije are also set to play Gor Mahia on the last day of the season as things stand.
