Michael Olunga: Inside Ultramodern Sports Facility Footballer Is Building
Kenyan international Michael Olunga has invested in a world-class sports academy to nurture the next generation of talent.

The Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) started as a dream a few years back, and it is almost finished. Olunga, who exited Al Duhail, is currently in the country and gave a tour of the MOFA complex.
He showcased the gym with ultramodern equipment, including treadmills, weights, and exercise bikes.
"We want it to be a top facility so that those we nurture here have the best," he said.
Olunga noted that Kenyan players are not exposed to such facilities at a young age, but he is out to change that.
Outside, the facility sits on a sizable piece of land surrounded by a wall, topped off with razor wire and an electric fence. Olunga emphasised that security is a top priority at MOFA.
"We also have CCTV cameras and are fully aware of what is happening. We want all the kids and all those working in this facility to feel safe."
Olunga showed the playing turf with a pop-up sprinkler system and a drainage system.
"We have pipes laid underground. These sprinklers are laid out all over this pitch. That is why we want to be the game-changers and produce top talent," Olunga said.
Olunga noted that playing surfaces in Kenya have always let the country down. The academy has two seven-a-side fields and one eleven-a-side field. It sits on a five-acre piece of land and is currently drilling a borehole to serve the facility.
"We will build an underground tank capable of holding 500,000 litres to curb water shortage," he added.
It also has a basketball court and a paddle tennis court.

Nestled in serene surroundings, the well-secured home is enclosed by a cream-toned perimeter wall and features an electric gate for added safety.
The beautifully manicured compound boasts lush greenery, a vibrant flower garden, and a scenic driveway paved with coloured cabro blocks.
When not on the pitch, Olunga tends to his maize and bean crops, blending a love for farming with luxury living.
The striker’s lifestyle extended to Qatar, where he cruised in a sleek BMW X6 worth over KSh 12 million.
