Defending champion Virtus Segafredo Bologna (Serie A) re-signed 27-year old American 188cm point guard Matt Morgan (college: Cornell) for the upcoming season. He played there last season. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 39 Serie A games, he recorded 10.1ppg, 1.8rpg, and 1.8apg. He helped them to win the league title, and they also played in the Supercup final. Morgan also played 34 games in Euroleague, where he averaged 7.8ppg, 1.7rpg, and 2.6apg.
He is a very experienced player. Morgan has played professionally in France (Le Mans), Turkey (Konyaspor), United Kingdom (Lions), NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga), The Basketball Tournament (Boeheim's Army), and NBA Summer League (Charlotte Hornets, Toronto Raptors, and LA Clippers).
He received the Eurobasket.com All-British BBL Player of the Year award and the Eurobasket.com All-British BBL Guard of the Year award in 2024.
He graduated from Cornell University in 2019 and it'll be his seventh season in pro basketball.
