Met: Kol may get rain every day for a week
Kolkata: The Met office has forecast a few spells of rain in the city every day for about a week, which will keep the mercury in check. A low-pressure area is likely to develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal and north Odisha-Bengal coasts by Thursday morning, bringing the daily dose of rain in Kolkata.
Some districts may experience heavy rain. "While maximum rain will occur in Odisha, the system will bring spells of rain in Kolkata and other parts of south Bengal, too. In Kolkata, we can expect a few heavy spells on Thursday.
The intensity and duration are likely to decrease by Friday but there will be spells of rain daily," said Met scientist H R Biswas, head of the weather forecast section at the Regional Meteorological Centre, Kolkata."The city's maximum temperature will be 30°C-32°C the next three to four days. We do not expect dry and hot conditions for a week," he added.
According to a special weather bulletin, an upper air cyclonic circulation has formed over the NW Bay of Bengal and north Odisha-Bengal coasts, tilting southwestwards. The low-pressure area will develop under the cyclonic circulation influence.
