Massive fire destroys sewing centre in Koh-e-Fiza

Bhopal: A massive fire engulfed a sewing centre at Khanugaon in Koh-e-Fiza, on Saturday morning destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees. Around 18 fire brigades were deployed, and firefighters brought the blaze under control after two hours of efforts. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as half a dozen families residing in the building were evacuated in time.

staff stated that the fire department received a call about the fire at 8:10 AM. Initially, two fire brigades were dispatched, but as the fire intensified, additional fire brigades from Pul Bogda, Fatehgarh, Bairagarh, Gandhi Nagar, and Mata Mandir fire stations were called in. After two hours of relentless efforts, the fire was completely extinguished by 10 AM.
The fire broke out at the sewing centre on the first floor quickly spreading and reaching the third floor. About six families were inside the building at the time, but they managed to evacuate safely with their children and belongings. Timely evacuation ensured that no lives were lost.
Residents in the area were alarmed as thick black smoke and flames rose several feet into the air. People raised an alarm, helping those inside the building to escape. The fire created a scene of panic, but the prompt response by the fire department prevented further escalation.
The initial investigation suggests a short circuit as the cause of the fire, but the exact reason will be determined after a detailed inquiry. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
