On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Delilah Akoth Omondi, aka Adelle Omondi, blacked out after she reportedly held two cups of tea for a seatmate as they were travelling to Mombasa.

The young woman, who reportedly frequently uses Mash buses to travel, woke up two days later, having been allegedly robbed and missing her inner garment and its liner.

She was taken to Coast General Hospital, and management at the bus company was under fire for allegedly keeping mum and hence stonewalling the probe.

Speaking to Eastleigh Voice, General Manager Lennox Shallo claimed that the company was not contacted for information after Adelle claimed she was drugged and robbed of two phones and KSh 56,000 in their bus.

According to Shallo, they only learnt of the allegations through social media like everyone else.

Shallo said that he was alerted by the conductor of the bus to a woman who looked drowsy, and they went to see her together.

"We took her to Central Police Station and reported the matter and later took her for a check up her to Coast General where she was attended to," he said.
"The conductor said that her relative had come for her and we left. We have never heard of a case of someone being drugged in the bus before. We followed the right procedure; we normally report the case and take her to hospital," he added.

Shallo was adamant that if one goes to the hospital, it is the duty of the doctors to treat the person. He, however, insisted that he was not saying Coast General slept on the job.

He also denied having a CCTV in the bus because they are a reputable company and don't expect such things to happen.

"She should have come to me; I took her to the police and the hospital, Omondi should have come to me and asked for the records. She is spoiling our name, nobody came to ask, she had an ill intent," he alleged.

"Why is he lying, We have a case reported in Kamukunji police station on February 12, 2025 this year on the same. What a shame, the same guy was called to provide the footage and claimed the Marcopolo didn't have a CCTV yet I personally saw it."

Eric Munguti:

"That bus had a conductor and a driver but none seem to know who the guy was. 😅😅😅. Watu si wajinga bana."

Stephen Moipei:

"Lenox charo I know you as a very honest and truthful man for many years, please don't lie on behalf of the company. Keep your integrity by letting and aiding investigators to come to a conclusion of this dragging menance."

Geoffrey Abuor:

"So apparently, Mash Poa doesn't have a check-list system when passengers are boarding... it's a lie."

The crew from Audiophile Sacco diverted their matatu to rush Nekesa to hospital after she started having breathing problems.

During the interview, Viola called the driver and makanga and thanked them profusely.
