Mark Goldbridge VENTS after seeing Garnacho in Aston Villa shirt with message to Rashford - Fan Banter

Garnacho, a 20-year-old Manchester United player, has publicly supported teammate Marcus Rashford by wearing an Aston Villa shirt with “Rashford 9” on it while on holiday, a move that upset some United fans, including Mark Goldbridge.

Following a Europa League final loss to Tottenham, new manager Ruben Amorim reportedly told Garnacho to find a new club, signalling his likely departure from United this summer.

Despite being excluded from the final Premier League matchday squad against Aston Villa, Garnacho joined United’s post-season Asia tour.

Clubs like Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, and Napoli are said to be interested in signing him. His Instagram post wearing the Villa kit has fuelled further speculation about his future.

Marcus Rashford appreciated it, and replied: “My brother ❤️”

Not online is it also highlighting Man Utd’s ongoing internal conflicts, particularly as new manager Ruben Amorim seeks to stamp his authority.

“Bang out of order to all of us who have backed you. It’s a big up yours to United fans.”

“What he has done there is basically put a rival clubs shirt on, said ‘up yours’ to every Man Utd fan, and also – let’s call it for what it is – this is disrespectful, and he’s lowering his own value to get the move he wants.

“He wants to go and play for Aston Villa, so he’s trying to lower his value to get a move. He’s behaving like an absolute t***.”

“There isn’t a way back,” “He’s behaved like an immature little child and it’s not our job to keep trying to make him grow up.”

Rashford has publicly flirted with Barcelona. “Marcus Rashford is basically saying, ‘I haven’t got a future at Man Utd. Rúben Amorim’s made that very, very clear and I’d love to play for Barcelona’,”

“They have to part ways. So no, I wouldn’t take him back,” “It would be a statement of backward thinking,” he adds. “We’ve just had our worst ever Premier League season.”

“He will remove you and he won’t change his mind. It makes him look weak when he publicly says a player is not good enough and then brings him back.”

“We’ve created monsters in the sense that footballers are almost bigger than football clubs.

“What we need to stop is the brandified point scoring to try and win the argument.

“Manchester United need to react like a football club that’s got a set of balls and a backbone.

“Rashford’s trying to get the move he wants. Man United are silent, slow.

“If all you can get is 35 million for Garnacho, you take the 35 million. Whether he’s worth 60 or not, circumstances dictate that he’s not.

“They need to move on and we need to move on. We can’t just keep going around this.”

If this is real he’s an absolute prat. So much for all the fans that supported you. Literally going rogue and sinking his value to get a move https://t.co/vYBf3MJcz7

If you’re defending a player wearing a rival shirt who is desperately trying to leave as normal behaviour then you’re completely missing the point. Mainoo has been left out of more games, linked to being sold, and would never behave like that. It’s called respect

: Amad was recently seen wearing a Brighton shirt while playing football. Why not have a go at him? I’m not even a United fan, but I’ve seen this on my TL, and it’s honestly nothing to moan about. All players wear other clubs shirts, usually those given to them by friends who play for them. I would also say he’s desperately trying to leave because the club have been trying to flog him since January. Why stay where he’s not wanted?

: Yes it’s absolutely fine. Players wear shirts in support of team mates.

: Totally fair. Garnacho’s no kid anymore – he knows exactly what he’s doing. When you’re at a club like United, standards matter. If you’re m stirring things up, you’re making your position clear. Amorims right – it’s time to move on.

: Why the out rage? Seen Anthony elanga wearing a Semenyo Bournemouth shirt on his holidays no drama there

: He’s been one of your better players for time then he gets dropped in the final comes on for the last 20 plays the best out of your whole team then your manager in front of all the other players says good luck finding another team and laughs at him, and fans get mad at him when he wears another kit with his mates name on it? absolute joke of a club 😂

: The biggest issue with this isn’t that it’s a villa shirt. It’s that he’s actively supporting a United player who is openly flirting with every club just to get a move and who wants to prove our manager wrong anywhere but the club who has made him the player he is today.

: Your manager already forced him out so what do you want him to do?

: I honestly don’t see nothing wrong with this, at the end of the day he’s closer to Rashford than all the fans, what’s wrong with wearing his friend’s Jersey? You man read too much into things man. They might have a bond no one really knows about not because fans are against Rashford means he should too.

People need to grow up. Wearing an opposing shirt isn’t the issue. It’s the context. If you can’t see the context of why Garnacho did it and think anyone wearing a different shirt is the same then that’s an IQ thing. https://t.co/fvLJ4obhZd

“Amad in a Brighton shirt, Dorgu in a Roma shirt is NOT the same! … Don’t be so Naive as to why that’s been done!” 🤨 #MUFC pic.twitter.com/FMlRek6B9F

“You dropped him from the final, you publicly said he was for sale & he’s walking around in a Villa shirt… You don’t get to ask for 60 million!” 🥴

How much can #mufc realistically get for Garnacho? 💰 pic.twitter.com/xar7AUGs22

“He doesn’t want to [get back in the team], he must have a move lined up and he’s playing it that way.

“It’s a new generation so I’ve got to try and not sound like an old man and be grumpy, but they just need a clip round the ear half of these.

“They’re bored and they’ve got no respect, respect is something that is spoken about now, it’s not earned.

“If it was me at Man United and I was [Bruno] Fernandes I’d wait until he came back and first day I’d just smash him, I would, I’m not trying to make headlines, I’d just smash him, this is Man United, who do you think you are? You little dope.”

talkSPORT earlier reported that Amorim has told Garnacho to find a new club, but Deeney thinks his latest stunt damages his reputation far and wide.

“It looks to me like he’s swapped that jersey with Marcus and he’s taken it there because he’s training and ticking over,”

“Taking a football shirt for me is a bit weird, but everything about this would rub up a football fan wrong.

“You’ve got a Lamborghini, you’ve got a Ferrari, Marcus isn’t in the best shape with United fans, everything about that would rub a football fan the wrong way and you can’t tell me that’s a natural shot.

“He’s posed and thought about where he’s doing it, then they’ve thought about a caption, nobody between him and his agent has thought it’s probably not a good idea.

“At this point it’s all on you, it’s not a PR team, it’s not an agency, it’s all on you, you have the power to get hold of that.

“It’s the modern footballer, when he was doing well and everyone was telling him how great he was he loved every second of it, get a little wobble and they all go ‘get me out of here, let me run away’ it just shows their character in my opinion.”

He added: “You talk about the old days with Sir Alex [Ferguson], but you never see these stories come out of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, clubs that are run properly with managers and directors of football that are all aligned and they know what the club is.

“It’s a decade now of poor ownership not understanding what it’s like to play for Man United, the greatness when you go in there.

“From what I can see from the outside at Man United everyone’s just got complacent because Sir Alex used to take care of it. He’s removed and everyone’s trying to bluff it and blag it.

“It takes now the likes of Harry Maguire, Fernandes, Casemiro to be going ‘you don’t conduct yourself like that, that’s just not how things are’.”
