Bageshwar: A 38-year-old man died after falling from the roof of his house in Batgeri village on Saturday during Holi celebrations. Authorities have sent the body for autopsy and launched an investigation into the incident.
Police said that Narendra Singh was sitting on the roof when he allegedly lost balance and fell. He was rushed to the district hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead. His brother, Balam Singh, claimed that Narendra was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He is survived by his wife and a one-year-old son.
Lata Bora, an emergency staff member at the district hospital, confirmed that Narendra had succumbed to his injuries before arrival. SHO Kailash Negi, who is leading the probe, said that the case "appears suspicious and the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report".
