Berhampur: A 57-year-old man died after falling into an open drain near MKCG Medical College and Hospital playground here on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, Mahendra Panigrahi from Kharavela Nagar, was found in the drain before locals rescued and rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M said the exact circumstances leading to the incident remains unclear, and the family is yet to file a formal complaint.
