Losses from shop fire in Chehalis amount to an estimated $450,000 - NewsBreak
There were no injuries after a shop fire on Cybrock Lane in Chehalis caught fire on Saturday afternoon, but the building was a complete loss.
Lewis County Fire District 6 units were dispatched to the blaze in the 100 block of Cybrock Lane at 2:48 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in Chehalis. The property owner, Marty McMahan, assisted in demolishing the structure with an excavator as firefighters battled the blaze.
The 40-by-60-foot shop structure received heavy structural fire damage estimated at $150,000 and is considered a complete loss, according to Fire District 6.
The loss of property within the building is estimated at $300,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
“District 6 units are thankful for the assistance we received from Chehalis Fire Department, Riverside Fire Authority, Lewis County Fire District 5, Lewis County Fire District 1 and Lewis County Fire District 13,” Fire District 6 wrote in a statement.
