Live Again Outreach Transforms Women's Lives in Abuja
Over 200 women converged at the Exhibition Pavilion in Abuja for the transformative Live Again Outreach, a pivotal intervention and advocacy program spearheaded by the Live Again Foundation. This event is a cornerstone of the foundation's ambitious flagship campaign, Mission 10,000, which aims to empower 10,000 women who have endured abuse, trauma, and systemic neglect, enabling them to reclaim purposeful and profitable lives. The outreach meticulously addressed multiple facets of a woman’s well-being, focusing intensely on gender-based violence (GBV) advocacy, comprehensive emotional healing, mental and physical restoration, and robust economic empowerment. Women from diverse backgrounds across Abuja arrived, many bearing the weight of brokenness and hopelessness, and departed feeling renewed, refueled, and profoundly reawakened.
A deeply inspiring element of the event was the personal testimony of Enifome Ogbimi, the Founder of the Live Again Foundation. As a GBV survivor herself, transformed into a powerful coach, Ms. Ogbimi candidly shared her journey from abuse to healing, demonstrating how to transition from pain to purpose and ultimately to profit. Her poignant message resonated profoundly with the attendees, as she passionately encouraged them to transmute their wounds into wisdom and their past experiences into a platform for meaningful impact. The atmosphere throughout the pavilion was charged with an electric energy, not merely of emotion, but of palpable possibility.
The program featured several impactful sessions led by distinguished experts. Naomi Osemedua, a global storyteller and mindset coach, guided participants through a session titled “Shedding the Labels,” urging them to deconstruct limiting beliefs, unlearn detrimental societal conditioning, and boldly embrace empowering new identities. Complementing this, vocal empowerment coach Halima Oyelade ignited confidence and clarity with her session, “Finding Your Voice Again,” specifically tailored for women who had long been silenced. Further empowering the attendees, human rights lawyer Mojirayo Ogunlana educated them on the critical VAPP (Violence Against Persons Prohibition) Act, emphasizing the power inherent in understanding their rights as women. Rantiade Benson Idahosa facilitated a deeply therapeutic discussion on healing generational trauma, skillfully integrating principles of faith, psychology, and strategic approaches to foster profound inner healing.
Beyond intellectual and emotional engagement, the outreach also provided practical and tangible support. Attendees benefited from on-site massage therapy, professional makeovers, personalized coaching, one-on-one therapy sessions, and invaluable legal aid generously provided by the Lex Initiative for Rights, Advocacy and Development (LIRAD). A wide array of essential support services was also made accessible. Women received donated clothing, sanitary items, accessories, and holistic wellness packages, ensuring that the scope of healing extended beyond mere words to encompass tangible care and well-being. A particularly moving moment was a reflective and prayer session, led by Pastor Evelyn Nwankwo, Senior Pastor of Dominion City Headquarters Abuja, which offered participants a sacred space to release emotional burdens and embrace healing from within.
The significance of the Live Again Outreach was underscored by the presence and support of representatives from both local and international institutions. Patience Ekeoba, National Program Specialist for UN Women, commended the Live Again Foundation for its strategic alignment with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Additionally, the Honourable Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi, Mandate Secretary for the Women Affairs Secretariat, ably represented by Mrs. Kemi Samuels, shared a heartfelt personal narrative of loss and resilience. Mrs. Samuels lauded the Live Again Foundation for its exemplary execution of the program and its unwavering dedication to restoring dignity and purpose to women’s lives.
