A little girl who went missing when she was just a year old, has now been found three years later!

At the time of the disappearance, the little girl, Blessing, was in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Blessing went missing during a visit with her mum at a facility in Brighton Park, Chicago on the 5th of November 2021.

Now, more than three years later, it has been confirmed that Blessing has been found.

Following a lengthy investigation by the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service, officers located a girl, aged between four and five years peeping out of a second floor window at a home in Chicago.

After further surveillance and using an age-processed image of Blessing from the time she went missing, officers were granted an arrest warrant and were able to recover the child, after making a forced entry to the property.

Blessing’s mother, Erika, attempted to flee when the police entered the property, but was apprehended and booked on multiple warrants, including retail theft, stolen property, and robbery.

Blessing, who is now four years old, was taken back to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and currently remains a ward of the state.
