LG Polls: Lagos APC chairman pledges reward for loyal party members
Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi has called on party members in the East Senatorial District to put aside their differences and work together towards winning the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.
He pledged rewards for party members who demonstrate loyalty and work towards the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Saturday, at the APC Lagos East Mega Rally, tagged :One Voice, One Vision, One Victory,” held in Ikorodu, Ojelabi stressed the importance of unity within the party, particularly after the recent primaries that saw some members expressing grievances.
A reconciliatory committee was established to address these concerns, and the chairman urged the aggrieved members to support the party’s candidates and work towards a common goal.
The APC chairman highlighted the party’s track record in Lagos State, noting that it has been in existence since 1999 and has successfully managed the state’s affairs.
He assured members that their efforts would be rewarded and encouraged them to support the party’s candidates.
Ojelabi also announced plans for a mobilisation committee to engage various groups, including youths, women, and others, starting from Monday.
He emphasised the need for the party to showcase its strength and for members to contribute to the party’s success in the elections.
The chairman urged party members to highlight the achievements of President Bola Tinubu at the federal level, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the state level, and Senator Adetokunbo Abiru to the electorate, saying that voting for the APC would ensure the consolidation of these achievements.
Ojelabi expressed confidence that a united party would emerge victorious in the elections.
He said, “If you work for the success of the party, the leadership of your LG are taking note and I assure you that at the end of the day, you will be adequately rewarded. If we work together as one big family, there is no political party in Lagos State that will defeat us. The only party that has structures in all the 376 wards in Lagos is the APC.
“Let us come together and contribute our quota towards the success of the LG election. We are not taking it lightly; we need to showcase ourselves and let everyone know that APC is strong. If all of us are on the same page, victory is ours. The achievement of the President at the federal level, the achievement of the governor at the state level and the achievement of Senator Abiru are enough to convince the people to vote for the APC.”
