The litigation, marked as Suit No: FHC/L/CS/1635/2015, is currently before Honourable Justice Aneke.

A legal firm, Clement Onwuenwunor & co, Ikeja, Lagos State, has warned Nigerians to stay clear of The Hardley Apartments, a five-storey hotel and commercial building located at Plot 46, Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, which is a subject of an ongoing court case.

The firm said in a public notice that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) had filed a suit before the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, to take over The Hardley Apartments, a five-storey hotel and commercial building located at Plot 46, Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The litigation, marked as Suit No: FHC/L/CS/1635/2015, is currently before Honourable Justice Aneke.

According to the notice obtained by SaharaReporters, the case is between AMCON and The Hardley Apartments & Others, with proceedings ongoing.

The matter has been adjourned to 2nd July 2025 for further hearings.

The trial judge had previously encouraged all parties to meet for settlement and report back to the court.

However, the notice from the legal firm states, "AMCON purportedly handed over the property and all the assets of the company to a third party, one Mr Olayinka Alade, without any settlement or authority of the company to him to act on its behalf."

It further noted that "the said Olayinka Alade is purportedly exercising powers over the property albeit illegally."

The notice also warns members of the public against engaging with Mr Alade or any other individual regarding the property.

"Whosoever deals with Mr Olayinka Alade or any other person in relation to the said property/assets therein, notwithstanding the pendency of this suit and apparent lack of authority thereof, does so at his or her own peril."

The dispute over the ownership and control of The Hardley Apartments remains unresolved as the case continues in court.
