The Wells Fargo Center played host to a special crossover moment Tuesday night as members of the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles were on hand to witness the Philadelphia 76ers take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
A star-studded group of Eagles players, fresh off their conference championship run, kicked off the evening by ringing the ceremonial bell before tip-off. The contingent included defensive standouts Darius Slay, Cooper DeJean, Reed Blankenship, and Jalen Carter, along with offensive weapons DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and recent additions Jahan Dotson and Parris Campbell. Veterans Brandon Graham, Avonte Maddox, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson rounded out the impressive Eagles delegation.

The highlight of the evening came when James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, took time to connect with several Eagles players before the game. Cameras caught a particularly warm exchange between James and Campbell, who share a special connection as graduates of the same Ohio high school. The four-time NBA champion also shared moments with Brown and Smith on the sidelines, showing mutual respect between athletes at the pinnacle of their respective sports.
Maybe during the post game meet up, James, who knows a thing or two about performing on the biggest stage, offered valuable insights to the Eagles players about preparing for their upcoming Super Bowl matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The NBA champion’s experience in high-pressure situations could prove invaluable as the Eagles get ready for their championship showdown.
Despite James putting up an impressive stat line of 31 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, the 76ers emerged victorious with a 118-104 win over the Lakers. Following the game, several Eagles players stayed behind for a photo opportunity with James, creating a memorable moment that bridged Philadelphia’s football and basketball worlds and perhaps gaining some championship wisdom in the process.
