American Michael Watkins (206-F-1995) had a great game in the last round for CS Antonine and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Mayrouba (#11, 6-15) 84-77. Antonine maintains the 4th position in Lebanese LBL. Antonine is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-10 record. In the team's last game Watkins had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Antonine, being already a very valuable addition to the team. The Pennsylvania State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Watkins leads league in rebounds with 14.8rpg. Watkins is in league's top in and averages solid 3.5bpg and 62.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Javion Blake (191-G-1997) of
CS Maristes. Blake impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 16 assists. Of course he led Maristes to another comfortable win 115-97 over slightly lower-ranked Tadamon (#9, 8-14) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Maristes to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-12 record. Blake is one of the most experienced players at Maristes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.The third best performed player last round was American Cameron Young (195-G-1996, agency: Slash Sports) of
Club Centrale Al Markaziyyah Jounieh (#8). Young got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . He was a key player of Al Markaziyyah, leading his team to a 85-77 win against slightly lower-ranked Antranik (#10, 8-14). Young has a great season in Lebanon. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.4ppg (3rd best).Other top performing players last week:
