, Nagarjuna, and
Rashmika Mandanna, officially hit theatres today (June 20, 2025), and early reactions hint at a promising box office run. Directed by Shekar Kammula, Kuberaa is a high-stakes socio-political drama that pits ambition, power, and conscience against each other. Adding to the film’s intensity is actor
Jim Sarbh in a villainous role, alongside
Dalip Tahil.
With a production budget of Rs 120 crore, the film has reportedly recovered nearly half of its cost through OTT and satellite rights alone — with
Amazon Prime Video and Star Maa bagging the digital and TV rights, respectively.
Interestingly, producer Suniel Narang claimed in an interview with Gulte that Amazon Prime Video had set strict conditions for the film’s release. He shared that the OTT platform allegedly warned that a Rs 10 crore deduction would be imposed if Kuberaa missed its scheduled June 20 launch. He added that despite his request for a delay due to post-production challenges, the response was firm: release on time or lose a chunk of the deal.Filmed simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, and dubbed in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, Kuberaa has been carefully positioned as a pan-India release. Backed by intense storytelling and a powerful ensemble, the film marks Dhanush’s return to serious drama, paired with Rashmika Mandanna in a layered role. With music by Devi Sri Prasad and production support from Amigos Creations and Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, Kuberaa is now live in cinemas — and will soon find its way to Amazon Prime Video.
