The video recorded by several journalists and content creators in the CBD, outside Imenti house, went viral, with many reacting to it.

One of the international stars to react to the clip was Konshens, born Garfield Delano Spence, who shared the video on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

The video showed the moment the mast vendor, Bonifce Kariuki, was approached by two cops before they roughed him up, and by the time they were leaving, he was lying motionless on the ground.

It clearly angered Konshens, who responded with a small but clear caption showing how mad he was.

He noted that Kariuki was unarmed and not threatening the police, adding an angry emoji to express how upset he was.

"Unarmed. Non threatening," he wrote.

Many in his comment section echoed his sentiments, while others thanked him for standing up with Kenyans and taking the video international.

Boniface Kariuki was selling masks in the CBD when he was shot in the head and needed serious medical attention.

Kenyans went on social media to pray for him and demand justice for his shooting.

After rumours about his death, it was discovered that he had survived, thanks to an operation at Kenyatta National Hospital.

His father spoke to reporters, noting that he first saw the video and could not believe what he was seeing, only to realise it was his son.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that police had arrested the cop behind the shooting of Boniface Kariuki.

In a statement by National Police Service (NPS), it was confirmed that the cop was behind bars and investigations oppened into the incident.

The Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, was said to have ordered the arrest, and the officer was now waiting for his day in court.
