Kings Could Revisit Trade Market Now That Kevin Durant Deal Is Done
The Sacramento Kings haven’t engaged in serious trade talks involving Malik Monk or DeMar DeRozan — yet.
But that could soon change, per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee, with Kevin Durant’s trade fate now settled and teams shifting focus to secondary targets.
The Kings have already made a series of bold moves in recent seasons. After trading Tyrese Haliburton back in 2022, they followed up by sending De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio this past year in a three-team deal that landed them former Chicago Bulls swingman Zach LaVine.
Now, with new head of basketball operations Scott Perry in charge, Sacramento is hunting for its next lead guard.
Anderson writes that names like Ja Morant, Trae Young, Darius Garland, and Jrue Holiday have all been floated as potential trade fits as the Kings potentially retool their roster.
In other words, now that the Durant domino is in place, other teams might start focusing on their own move and what’s next. Count the Kings among them.
