Kharkiv strike sparks fire in one of the city's districts | RBC-Ukraine
A fire broke out in one of Kharkiv’s districts as a result of a Russian drone strike, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that the strike on the Novobavarskyi district ignited a fire in a one-story non-residential building.
"There have been no reports of casualties so far. Inspection of the area near the strike site is ongoing," he noted.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, State Emergency Service crews are working at the scene.
According to updated information at 3:33 AM Kyiv time, the strike reportedly carried out by a Geran-2 type UAV caused a fire at a vehicle service station (STO) in Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi district.
"Approximately 300 square meters are engulfed in flames. State Emergency Service units are working at the scene," reported Oleh Syniehubov.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that in addition to the fire at the strike site in the Novobavarskyi district, windows were shattered in nearby buildings. No casualties have been reported.
The fire at the impact site in the Novobavarskyi district has been contained.
Two people were evacuated by the Red Cross from houses near the site of the strike. As of now, there are no reported injuries.
In the early hours of Wednesday, July 2, Russian forces launched another drone attack on Ukraine using Shahed drones.
Around 3 AM Kyiv time, explosions were heard in Kharkiv as Russia targeted the city’s Novobavarskyi district.
