Kenya scooped three awards at this year’s Continental Africa Public Service Day celebrations.

The three awards saw the country emerge as the top performer in public service delivery at the 10^th edition held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Themed "Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps," the biennial event brought together public sector innovators from across the continent to showcase transformative ideas aimed at improving public service delivery.

Kenya’s was awarded as the country with the best innovation in Service Delivery for Poultry Melovax by Tharaka University and the most accountable and transparent organisation, an innovation dubbed ‘Jaza Miti Initiative’ by Kenya Forestry Research Institute.

The other award was the best pavilion category by Team Kenya Exhibition Stand.

Several other Kenyan institutions showcased outstanding innovations at the event, including the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration which showcased its Automated Reporting Management Information System (ARMIS)

While Baringo National Polytechnic showcased its Water Recycling Innovation, Huduma Kenya had the Universal Agent Model, Kenya Ports Authority with its KARGOPAY Innovationand Kisiwa National Polytechnic showcasing five functional bed innovation.

Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development and head of Kenya’s delegation Dr Jane Kere Imbunya said this year’s APSD celebrations featured a wide range of exhibitions and symposia, where African nations presented public service delivery innovations and deliberated on topical issues aligned with the theme.

She commended team Kenya for their exemplary performance.

“These wards affirm Kenya’s leadership in public service transformation across the continent,” she said.
