Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, emphasising that the safety of communities depends on the readiness and professionalism of security personnel.

Speaking on Monday at the closing ceremony of the 2025 6 Brigade Training of Security Agencies in Jalingo, Governor Kefas described the two-week program as a significant step towards building a safer and more secure Taraba State.

“It is with immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you today,” the governor said. “The skills you have acquired are not merely technical competencies but essential tools that will enable you to carry out your duties with greater efficiency and confidence.”

He also applauded the participants for their commitment and eagerness to improve their skills, stressing that security is a collective responsibility that requires inter-agency collaboration.

“The threats we face today are increasingly sophisticated, and our response must be equally adept,” Governor Kefas stated.

Calling on security agencies to continue working closely together. Kefas also commended the trainers, instructors, and the Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, for their leadership and commitment to enhancing the state’s security capacity.

Brigadier General Uwa, in his remarks, emphasised the importance of inter-agency cooperation that was fostered during the training.

He noted that the advanced driving and vehicle maintenance skills gained by participants would significantly improve operational effectiveness across challenging terrains.

“The knowledge you have gained during this training is invaluable,” Uwa said. “You are now better prepared to face the challenges that lie ahead in your respective duties.”
Both leaders expressed gratitude to all participants, trainers, and the Taraba State Government for their support, pledging to sustain efforts aimed at ensuring the security and prosperity of the state.

The ceremony, as observed by The Guardian, concluded with renewed calls for unity and professionalism as security agencies work to protect lives and property across Taraba State.
