and representatives have officially confirmed that they have broken up. The former couple has been making headlines for weeks, with fans trying to put together the clues of what went wrong. According to the statement, it's been unwraveling for months.

The representatives confirmed the news with outlets like PEOPLE, saying, "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting."

Perry and Bloom were last spotted together at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party in March. It was previously reported that they were waiting until her Lifetimes tour ended before making the split official. But it looks like the cat came out of the bag early

They share a daughter named Daisy Dove, who will turn 5 on August 26. The representatives noted that they will "continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

As for what made them decide they were better off alone, a source told PEOPLE on July 1 that things had been rocky for a while and months before their split they were "suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years," adding that the couple was living "on an island of stress."

Between busy schedules and poor communication, it became "hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements." "When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level," they added.

There were also reports by PEOPLE that Perry's 143 album put "stress" on their relationship. It was released on September 20, 2024, to mixed reactions. A PEOPLE insider said the “Firework” singer was “deeply frustrated” by the reception and “very stressed.” “Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension,” they explained.

Her tour has also reportedly left her “disappointed” and added even more “stress” to the relationship. But it hasn’t all been bad; she sold out many of her shows, including the entire Australian leg. This week, she even broke down in tears while on stage, thanking her fans for their support.

It's not the first time they’ve split. They broke up in February 2017 amid her poor album sales. It was a time that she said made her feel suicidal. “Gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life,” Perry told SiriusXM's CBC Radio One at the time. “Because if I did not find that, I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped.” They rekindled their romance a few months later and made their first red carpet appearance together in September 2018

While neither Perry nor Bloom has spoken up about the split, people have been dissecting the social media activity. After attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding alone, the 48-year-old actor reposted a carousel of quotes from Carl Jung. “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate what seems important to oneself,” one quote read.

Now that they're single, we will start seeing a bunch of rumors and speculation. After Bezos and Sanchéz's wedding, Bloom was photographed on a stroll with Sydney Sweeney in Venice, which, of course, made people wonder if something was going on. But a source confirmed to TMZ that Sweeney is very much single.
