Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan have put their past issues behind them. Not only are they working together on a new film, but they also hosted the latest IIFA Awards. During one segment, the duo engaged in a rap battle, playfully taking jabs at each other’s work before teasing their upcoming movie.

Karan Johar takes a jab at Kartik Aaryan in rap battle; says, “Khans and Kapoors are still the OG’s”

In his rap, Karan Johar remarked, said, “Tum ho naye student main evergreen faculty, let me introduce you to the real real royalty. Khans and Kapoors are still the OG guys, aaj kal ke hero dekho stealing their franchise!” Karan also referred to himself as a ‘Kingmaker’ in Bollywood.

Kartik Aaryan responded by highlighting his success in Bollywood as an outsider, noting that his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was a hit, while Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 had failed at the box office. Later that evening, Kartik won the Best Actor (Male) award for his role as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Kartik was deeply moved, and during his acceptance speech, he opened up about the challenges and uncertainties he had encountered in his career. He described his journey with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise as “full of thorns” and shared how, when he was initially cast in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, many people had questioned and doubted his abilities.

Kartik Aaryan expressed, “I don’t have words right now. I am not Chandu, I am the champion. I know this is not an award for that film, but I have the same feeling.” He then added, “Bhool bhulaiyaa ki puri journey kaanton bhari rahi hai.”

He further added, “Mujhe pehli baar Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 ke liye select kiya gaya tha, tab bohot sawaal uthe the. Ki kya mere kandhon par ye film chal paayegi ya nahi chal paayegi? (When I was first selected for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, there were a lot of questions raised. People wondered whether this film would succeed on my shoulders or not).”
