He spoke to Ojwang’s father, mother, wife, and young son during the emotional meeting in his office in City Hall.

Sorrow filled the faces of the bereaved as they conversed with the politician who spoke highly of the late high school teacher.

“Albert wasn’t just a top digital influencer. He was family to my team—one of the most consistent and vocal believers in my journey,” Sakaja said.
“In honour of that loyalty, and in recognition of the tragedy of his untimely death, I have committed to walk with Albert’s family through this painful chapter. I will take care of the burial expenses, educate his three-year-old son, George Miles, and finish paying his widow’s college fees,” he added.

Sakaja shared heartwarming photos with the grieving family as they interacted in his office at City Hall. He emphasized the close relationship he had with Ojwang, who left behind a young family.

“Albert Ojwang was more than just a name online. He was a friend, a patriot, and a young man with great promise.
May God rest his soul in eternal peace,” he said.

Among his commitments, Sakaja vowed to employ Ojwang’s wife after she graduates. He noted that she is currently in her final semester pursuing a diploma in community health.

He also pledged to purchase a piece of land for Ojwang’s parents and build rental units on it so they can have a sustainable source of income, having lost their primary breadwinner who also supported the extended family.

Like Ojwang’s family, Sakaja called for justice for the slain teacher, whose death sparked nationwide grief.

“We want true justice for Albert,” Sakaja said. “His son George is too young to understand what has happened, and he will never see his father again. As a country, we cannot continue like this," he added.

Kenyans took to the comment section to share their reactions following Sakaja’s heartfelt gesture toward the late blogger’s family.

Cian Wuod Mwalimu:

"No, employing her means she’ll move to the city with her son, leaving Ojwang’s parents alone. She should stay closer to home."

Beaty Awili:

"Also, build him a house and furnish it. He will have many guests. We saw he was a humble man who struggled all his life teaching his only son... Let's fulfill the things his son would have done for him."

Sankuli Oryx:

"Your humility in standing with the family assures them they are not alone."

Francis Ochieng:

"Reading a kid’s mind is intricate. The late Albert Ojwang’s son George Miles' adventures and interactions with different people are difficult to understand."

Wakili Salmah Ochieng:

"Thank you for stepping in and filling the gap. Amidst the grief, we have seen a smile of hope."

In another story, a video of young George Miles, Ojwang’s son, playing football with comedian Eric Omondi warmed the hearts of many.

The little boy happily played during the mourning period of his father, showing off his incredible skills.

Social media users flooded the comments section with well-wishes for his future.
