JessB: Future of Music 2025

Auckland-based rapper JessB has been making waves in the music scene, and 2024 marked a significant milestone in her career with the release of her debut album, Feels Like Home. The album opened with "Power," a collaboration with Sampa the Great and dancehall reggae icon Sister Nancy. The track made a bold statement: JessB belonged in such esteemed company.
Despite working with international stars like Doja Cat, Sweetie, and G Flip, JessB waited to release a full debut album. When Feels Like Home finally dropped last year, it showcased JessB's full potential. The album sounded like a third or fourth release due to JessB's extensive experience.
In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ, JessB reflected on 2024 as both challenging and rewarding, highlighting the release of her long-awaited debut album. A career highlight was when Chris Martin invited her on stage to perform "Power" at Coldplay’s sold-out show in Eden Park.
When asked about what sets her apart in a competitive music industry, JessB emphasized the intersection of her identity, musical taste, and artistic expression. She feels this has resulted in a unique sound and image less common in the AUS/NZ music scenes.
Looking ahead to 2025, JessB is touring with Kehlani in Australia and New Zealand. She wants growth and expansion and is focused on building a long-lasting career in the industry.
