Jason Statham's New Action Thriller Is Sparking An Incredible Rotten Tomatoes Streak Thanks To The Latest Audience Score

The new movie has kicked off a solid Popcornmeter streak for the star on Rotten Tomatoes. The actor, who is best known for action movies such as Wrath of Man, The Beekeeper, and Parker, in addition to various installments in franchises including Fast and Furious, The Meg, Crank, The Transporter, and The Expendables. Collectively, the star's movies have grossed more than $8.4 billion at the box office worldwide, with the highest-grossing being 2015's Furious 7 ($1.512 billion).

However, Jason Statham action movies are not always beloved by critics. While he has earned his fair share of Fresh scores with some of his movies even being officially Certified Fresh, including Furious 7 (82%) and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (75%), . He has so far earned 32 Rotten scores on the review aggregator platform, ranging from 2012's Safe (59%) to 2007's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (4%).

A Working Man is succeeding with audiences. The new David Ayer movie, which stars Statham as a construction worker trying to stop a kidnapping, is projected to debut at No. 1 at the domestic box office, dethroning Disney's Snow White during the live-action remake's sophomore weekend. It doesn't take an active imagination to see where the future of A Working Man is going. A few plots are left unresolved. Levon still has to win custody of his young daughter, paving the way for a sequel or two if the film makes a profit. Statham has proved himself an asset at the box office, and when it comes to movies like A Working Man, a critical reception has little to do with the project's performance. It's a mindless good time, and I'll be interested to see where the franchise goes.

Now that the movie has debuted in theaters, Rotten Tomatoes has been able to aggregate an official Popcornmeter score from more than 250 verified user reviews. While the score could fluctuate as more reviews are added, at the time of writing, , which is nearly 40 full points higher than what critics have given it on the Tomatometer. Additionally, while critics gave it an average score of 5 out of 10, audiences are averaging out at a far superior 4.2 out of 5.

The A Working Man release kicking off with such a stellar audience score sparks a major Rotten Tomatoes streak for . This is , following his previous collaboration with Ayer, 2024's The Beekeeper, which is Verified Hot with a 92% score. All in all, this pair of movies are two of only five of his titles that have passed the 90% threshold, with the most recent being 2021's Wrath of Man, which is Verified Hot at 90%.
