Japan - Robots-ink-Tyler-Cook-ex-Merkezefendi
Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots (B1 League) agreed terms with 27-year old American power forward Tyler Cook (206cm-113kg-1997, college: Iowa) for new 2025-26 season. He joins another USA player Robert Franks who is already in the roster. He played last season at Merkezefendi in Turkish BSL league. In 24 games he had very impressive stats: 15.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.5apg. The previous (2024) summer he played at Celtics in U.S. semi-pro league NBA Summer League.
He is a quite experienced player. Cook's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in six different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. Cook has played previously professionally in Australia (Phoenix), Spain (Joventut), Turkey, NBA (Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets), NBA G League (SLC Stars, OKC Blue, Iowa Wolves, Cleveland Charge and Windy City Bulls) and NBA Summer League (Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks).
Among many awards, his team made it to the NBA Semifinals in 2020. He was voted to All-Big Ten Honorable Mention back in 2018 during his college time.
Cook graduated from the University of Iowa in 2019, and it will be his seventh season as a pro player.
