Italy - Serie-B-Nazionale-Round-34-Regular-Season-Treviglio-defeats-Imola-ACosta-in-the-closest-game-of-the-week

Published 4 weeks ago26 minute read

The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Fourteenth-ranked Imola ACosta (14-20) gave a tough game to first ranked Treviglio (27-7) on Sunday.

Treviglio managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Treviglio had a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Imola ACosta helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-1990, college: DePaul) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Tommaso Vecchiola (185-2004) chipped in 10 points and 9 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (181-1990) responded with 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Treviglio maintains first position with 27-7 record. Imola ACosta at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Treviglio are looking forward to face Lumezzane (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Imola ACosta will play against Faenza and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Roma: Luiss Roma (#3) and RO Virtus 1960 (#5). RO Virtus 1960 was defeated at home 81-94 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of RO Virtus 1960. Forward Valerio Cucci (202-1995) notched 28 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Marco Pasqualin supported him with 8 points and 11 assists. Luiss Roma's coach Andrea Paccarie allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds by Croatian center Matej Radunic (211-1996) did not help to save the game for RO Virtus 1960. Luiss Roma (24-9) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted RO Virtus 1960 dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Luiss Roma will play against Chieti (#19) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. RO Virtus 1960 will play against Ruvo di Puglia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Montecatini. 4th ranked host Montecatini (22-11) lost to third ranked Luiss Roma (24-9) 82-74.
