The Jurassic Park franchise is in capable hands with Gareth Edwards helming the new sequel. Screenwriter David Koepp also confirmed Jurassic World Rebirth is a fresh start for the series, just like the first installments of the previous trilogies.
Writer David Koepp confirmed Jurassic World Rebirth is a return to form for the franchise. The six films so far released kept the continuity, and Jurassic World Dominion could have been a satisfying end to the series. Still, fans were excited with the news that Koepp (who wrote the screenplays for Jurassic Park and The Lost World) was developing a soft reboot, and early images hint the sequel is going back to basics. Speaking with /Film, Koepp revealed his approach to Rebirth, which features a brand-new ensemble with none of the legacy characters. That doesn't mean the story is disconnected from previous installments.

Jurassic World Rebirth Will Feel More Like the Spielberg Movies, Reveals Director
Jurassic World Rebirth director Gareth Edwards explains how the sequel will have stuff that he loved from the Spielberg-directed Jurassic Park movies.
"When Steven [Spielberg] said, 'Hey, do you want to try to come up with a new one?', ," Koepp said. "So after the first three, it changed into Jurassic World, which was a different tone and wholly different characters, and then that came, it seemed, to a logical conclusion. So " The synopsis revealed an entirely new premise and a compelling motivation for its protagonists, but Koepp clarified Rebirth will not retcon any lore established in the two trilogies.
"" he asserted. " And Steven and I got to do the absolute most fun part of filmmaking, which is, 'Hey, what if...' and then you just make up stuff." If anything, Rebirth will expand Jurassic Park lore, paving the way for more sequels.

The Complete Jurassic Park & World Timeline (Including Camp Cretaceous)
Jurassic Park & Jurassic World already has a complex and varied timeline to explore and a brand new animated show adds to that legacy.
Rebirth could feature dinosaurs never before seen in the franchise. The logline teased three that "hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind"; Titanosaurus, Aquilops, and a new version of Spinosaurus were depicted in leaked promotional art. Rebirth will lean heavily on real science, which rules out hybrids like Indoraptor and Indominus Rex. Rebirth will also feature a scrapped scene from Jurassic Park; Koepp confirmed dinosaurs are involved. "There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for," he told Variety. "We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'"
Jurassic World Rebirth launches in theaters on July 2.
