Iowa Coach Sends Clear Message to Caitlin Clark's Former Teammate on Thursday

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is now in her second WNBA season, averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game.

While her main focus is returning from a groin injury and helping the Fever compete for a WNBA title, she still keeps tabs on the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball program, with whom she played for over four years.

Clark still has coaches and former teammates with the Hawkeyes, including Jan Jensen, her former associate head coach who is now the full-time head coach, and forward Hannah Stuelke.

Stuelke is currently spending her summer with Team USA at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. She’s in Managua, Nicaragua, aiming to bring home a gold medal.

With the American squad preparing for a quarterfinal game on Friday against the Dominican Republic, Jensen sent her a message on social media.

"Keep it rollin' Hannah Stuelke," Jensen tweeted. "We love watching you & your USA Basketball teammates! Keep working toward that gold medal...knock 'em out tomorrow in the Knockout Round! Go USA! Go Hannah!"

Clark played two seasons with Stuelke in 2022-23 and 2023-24, during which Iowa won two Big Ten Tournament titles and made two appearances in the national championship game.

Stuelke played a key role off the bench in her freshman season, winning the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year award. In her sophomore year, she started 32 of 35 games and averaged 14.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. She was also named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.
