International Yoga Day 2025: From PM Modi attending mass yoga session in Andhra Pradesh to Delhi CM

The government of India is planning numerous events across the country in anticipation of the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21. The flagship event 'Yoga Sangam' will happen in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, tomorrow, June 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the event, starting his two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh today, June 19.

Before practising yoga on Saturday, Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects at Siwan, a major boost to infrastructure and socio-economic development in Bihar, on Friday.

Yoga Sangam is one of the 10 signature events for this year's Yoga Day. This year's global theme is 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'.

Yoga Sangam, the main event, will orchestrate a synchronised mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at over 1 lakh locations across India on June 21, 2025, from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. PM Modi will lead the national event at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This collective celebration aims to reaffirm our shared commitment to the timeless practice of yoga and its enduring relevance in today's world.

Anyone can participate in the Yoga Sangam event online for free. You just need to open yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam and register yourself by filling out some basic details.

Delhi's Chief Minister (CM) Rekha Gupta will practice Yoga on the banks of the Yamuna on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga.

Speaking to persons ahead of International Yoga Day tomorrow, she said, "Tomorrow I will practice Yoga on the banks of Yamuna... Tomorrow will be celebrated like a festival in many places in Delhi... The Delhi government will celebrate this International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm."

The Indian Army, in collaboration with Indian diplomatic missions and cultural centres, is commemorating the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great fervour across various international locations. Aligned with the global theme of fostering health, harmony and holistic well-being, multiple yoga events have been organised in the lead-up to June 21, 2025.

Ahead of the International Day of Yoga, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that Yoga is for everyone's health and mind, and it gives balance and positive ideas.

M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, practiced Yoga at Lal Bahadur Stadium, Hyderabad, during a 24-hour countdown event organised by the Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines ahead of International Yoga Day tomorrow.

Around 1000 cadets from the National Cadet Corps performed Yoga in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Friday ahead of the International Yoga Day.

According to GS Vidyarthi, Commanding Officer from the Ahmedabad unit of NCC, more than 1,000 cadets participated in the yoga day celebrations. He mentioned that yoga keeps the cadets physically and mentally fit in any critical condition.
