Imo State Governor Uzodimma Sacks Attorney-General Akaolisa

Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, has dismissed the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Cyprian Okechukwu Akaolisa, with immediate effect.

The announcement, made on Monday afternoon by Chief Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, did not include any reason for the sudden removal.

According to the official statement, Barrister Akaolisa has been instructed to hand over all government property in his possession to the state Solicitor-General and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice without delay.

“The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has approved the immediate removal from office of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. C.O.C. Akaolisa,” the statement read.
