Longevida San Pablo Burgos (Primera FEB) confirmed in their roster 28-year old Icelandic international guard Jon Axel Gudmundsson (195cm-90kg-1996, college: Davidson) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The previous (2023-24) season he played at another Spanish team HLA Alicante (LEB Gold).
He has also been a member of the Icelandic international program for some years. Gudmundsson has regularly played for the Icelandic senior team since 2017 and previously for the U20 National Team in 2016.
He also represented Iceland at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 10.4 ppg and had 6.1 rpg.
Gudmundsson is a quite experienced player. He has played professionally in Germany (Hakro Merlins and Skyliners), Italy (Pesaro and Fortitudo Flat Service Bologna), NBA Summer League (Phoenix Suns), and The Basketball Tournament (Fully Loaded).
Gudmundsson was also voted All-Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 2019.
He graduated from Davidson College in 2020 and it'll be his sixth season as a pro player.
