'I would like it very much' - Everton player said to be assisted by agent in transfer plea - Sport Witness
As the January transfer window grows older, players who thought they had a good chance of getting a move this moth, and are still at the club they started the year with, are starting to worry.
One of those players is apparently Beto, with the Italian media, and specifically Turin newspaper Tuttosport, reporting on a daily basis that the forward wants to leave Everton before the winter market closes.
This week, Tuttosport have repeatedly explained that given David Moyes taking over doesn’t appear to have changed Beto’s prominence in the pecking order, he’s now doubly determined to return to Serie A in the coming days.
Saturday’s edition of Tuttosport has Beto on the front page, with the words ‘Give me Torino’.
This is the newspaper paraphrasing the Everton player, and inside they report that with the assistance of his agent, Beto has told the Premier League club the following: ‘I would like to play more, I would like to return to Italy. If you sell me to Torino, I will be happy: I would like it very much. By now here in Liverpool the choices have been made about me. And for some time.’
That’s paraphrasing, so not to be taken as a direct quote but rather the gist of what he’s been asking Everton for.
Everton are said to be asking for a deal worth a total of €20m and Torino don’t want to pay that. They’re also not comfortable with a loan which would become a permanent transfer through easy-to-achieve conditions, as Torino would want more of a choice in the summer.
