Hubballi APMC to have a new dedicated power station | Hubballi News - The Times of India
Hubballi: The
Hubballi APMC
, which covers over 430 acres, is all set to receive a
dedicated power station
that will provide
reliable electricity supply
to its facilities.
At a discussion held at the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Friday, APMC director Shivanand Kapasi responded to concerns about inadequate power supply raised by Merchants Association president Rajkiran Menasinkai. A local APMC official disclosed that following their consultation with
HESCOM
MD, approval was granted for a 33 KV power station on APMC campus. The official confirmed that APMC has designated one and a half acres for the station, with work already underway.
This initiative represents a crucial advancement in APMC facilities. The power station will serve thousands of traders, farmers, and workers who conduct business in the market yard each day. Local traders believe the improved power supply will enhance cold storage operations, electronic weighing equipment, and premises lighting.
Responding to a query by the president of Ballari Chamber of Commerce about a chilli market in Ballari, director Kapasi confirmed that 28 acres in Aladhalli was identified for establishing a chilli market with cold storage facility. Kapasi commended the Ballari Chamber of Commerce's initiative of providing complimentary meals to farmers visiting Ballari APMC and encouraged other Chambers to consider implementing similar programmes at their APMCs.
Several traders raised concerns regarding e-swathu completion. Kapasi assured them of an upcoming meeting with the Inspector General of Registrations (IGR) to address these issues. He firmly stated that 35(B) would remain in place as it is the sole document bearing an official seal.
The director of APMC said that district-level officials would be instructed to conduct meetings once every two months with APMC traders to discuss and resolve their concerns. Representatives from various Chambers, including those from Gadag, Ranebennur, Ballari, and other regions, participated in the discussion forum, where they highlighted several concerns.
The event was attended by KCCI president SP Saunshimath, along with Basavaraj Eklaspur, Ravindra Baligar, Channu Hosamani, and other notable members.
