Huawei Band 10 Launched in India, Garnering First Impressions

Huawei has expanded its wearable lineup in India with the launch of the Huawei Band 10, the successor to last year's Huawei Band 9. This new smart band aims to deliver a combination of premium design, a comprehensive suite of health and fitness tracking features, and an affordable price point, making it an intriguing option in the budget-centric fitness tracker market.
The Huawei Band 10 is available in two case options: polymer and aluminium alloy. The polymer case variant is priced at Rs. 6,499, while the aluminium alloy version costs Rs. 6,999. As a special launch offer valid until June 10, Huawei is offering the polymer case model for Rs. 3,699 and the aluminium alloy model for Rs. 4,199. The smart band is available for purchase exclusively on Amazon in India. The Huawei Band 10 was previously unveiled in select global markets in February.
In terms of design, the Huawei Band 10 features a slim profile with a thickness of just 8.99mm and a lightweight body, weighing approximately 14 grams (without the strap). The aluminium alloy case is noted for its sturdy and premium feel. The device comes with a comfortable silicone strap, suitable for all-day wear. A side button on the right allows users to turn the display on/off or access the menu. The polymer case is available in Black and Pink colourways, while the aluminium alloy case comes in Matte Black, White, Green, Blue, and Purple options.
The smart band sports a 1.47-inch rectangular AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels and a pixel density of 282ppi. The display supports Always-On functionality, as well as swipe and touch gestures for navigation. Initial impressions suggest the touchscreen is smooth and responsive.
The Huawei Band 10 is packed with health and fitness features, offering support for 100 preset workout modes, including running, cycling, yoga, and swimming. It utilizes AI-based algorithms for automatic tracking of activities like running and climbing. The device is equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. For health monitoring, it includes 24/7 heart rate tracking, SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) monitoring, sleep tracking with insights into sleep-heart rate variability (HRV) and sleep quality, and stress management tools. The band also features an Emotional Wellbeing Assistant, which provides wellness tips and suggests positive or calming watch faces, along with inbuilt breathing exercises.
Aimed at swimmers, the Huawei Band 10 boasts a 5ATM water-resistant rating and incorporates a dedicated swimming feature with a nine-axis sensor and AI-backed stroke recognition, claiming 95 percent accuracy in swim stroke and lap detection.
Regarding battery life, Huawei claims the Band 10 can last up to 14 days on a single charge under typical usage conditions. It takes approximately 45 minutes to achieve a full charge. Additionally, a quick five-minute charge can provide up to two days of battery life. The Huawei Band 10 is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, broadening its appeal to a wide range of smartphone users.
Overall, the Huawei Band 10 presents itself as a feature-rich fitness tracker that balances advanced functionalities with an accessible price, particularly with its introductory offers. Its comprehensive tracking capabilities and long battery life make it a notable new entrant in the wearable market.
