Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Date Announced

Samsung has officially announced the launch date for its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone, setting it for May 13. The device, teased earlier this year at a Galaxy Unpacked event and showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, is poised to be the slimmest flagship phone in Samsung's lineup, joining the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The launch event, scheduled for May 13 at 9 a.m. KST (5:30 a.m. IST), will be livestreamed on Samsung's website and YouTube channel. Samsung emphasizes that the Galaxy S25 Edge embodies the ultimate camera experience, enhanced by mobile AI to empower users in mobile photography, from capturing to editing and sharing.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a 6.65-inch or 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Its ultra-slim design, measuring approximately 5.84mm in thickness, makes it one of the thinnest premium smartphones Samsung has launched. Despite its slim profile, the device is rumored to weigh around 162-163 grams.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM. It will run on Samsung's One UI 7, based on Android 15. The phone is expected to house a 3,900mAh battery with 25W wired charging support.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a dual-camera setup, including a 200MP primary sensor and a 12MP or 50MP ultra-wide lens. A 12-megapixel front camera is also anticipated for selfies and video calls. This configuration aims to provide high-quality imaging and versatility for photography enthusiasts.

Leaks suggest the Galaxy S25 Edge could be priced at EUR 1,249 (approximately Rs. 1,19,000) for the 256GB variant and EUR 1,369 (approximately Rs. 1,30,000) for the 512GB variant. It may be available in Titanium Jetblack, Titanium Icyblue, and Titanium Silver color options.

Additional specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The device may have a titanium middle frame, glass back and front panels with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
