A primary 5 pupil, who is among those currently out of school as a result of the ongoing strike by primary school teachers in the FCT was reportedly abducted on Monday after taking food to her younger ones in a private school.

The 13-year-old girl, who was abducted in Kubwa, is in one of the LEA primary schools in the area, whose teachers have been on strike since March.

Our reporter, however, learnt that the little girl luckily escaped from her abductors.

The victim, simply identified as Chisom, had gone to deliver food to her younger ones around 9:30am on Monday at FO1 area of Kubwa, where they also reside but she was accosted by two men on her way back home.

Abuja Metro reports that the FCT Police Command had earlier declared the girl missing.

A message posted by the command’s spokeswoman, Josephine Adeh, a superintendent, urged members of the public with useful information on her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.

But speaking with Abuja Metro yesterday, the father of the girl, Osamuyi Best, said his daughter was abducted by two men carrying guns point who took her to a nearby uncompleted building, where they held her in captivity throughout the day.

He said they searched for the girl throughout the day but could not locate her not until around 1 a.m. the following day, when one of her aunties, who resides in a community along the Bwari road, called to inform them about her escape from the abductors.

He said the girl later told them that the suspects were hiding close to a batcher in their neighbourhood and suddenly moved toward her and forced her into an uncompleted building within the community.

“She told us that they gave her biscuit with sachet water while in the building but she secretly refused to eat the items.

‘‘They leave her inside one of the rooms inside the house and go outside the compound but checked on her at intervals.

‘‘Later, around 11pm, they moved out of the compound, and headed to Saukale roundabout on the Dutse-Bwari road, where they boarded a Keke-Napep.

‘’Their plan was to go to Ushafa community along the Bwari road, but the keke man told them that he would only stop at Bmuko junction along the way.

‘‘They alighted at the junction and moved further to look for another keke, as there was no available tricycle at the junction at that hour.

In the process of waiting for another tricycle, a vehicle arrived at the junction and after flashing light towards them, they became uncomfortable, suspecting whether the people inside the car were after them. So, they fled the scene and she used the opportunity to also escape.

‘‘From there, she headed to her aunty’s house, who lives around Bmuko community near the junction. On her way to the house, she came across a team of security men, who asked her where she was heading to, but did not care to assist her to the location.’’

There was no immediate response from the FCT police command on the escape of the girl from her kidnappers.
