Angel Asiamah took over Nana Agradaa's role as the lead pastor

Following the 15-year sentence of Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, aka “Agradaa,” her husband, Angel Asiamah, took over her role as the lead pastor of their church.

In a video captured by GhanaWeb, Angel Asiamah came dressed to impress with his dignified presence as he arrived at Heavenway Champion International Ministry on July 6, 2025.

He was spotted stepping out of a sleek unregistered SUV in a sharp black suit detailed with intricate sleeve and fold designs, which he complemented with a white shirt, blue tie, polished black shoes, and stylish glasses.

Warmly greeting congregants at the entrance, he then proceeded to the rear of the building before the morning service began.

Once inside, Asiamah took to the pulpit in place of his wife. It was there that he explained that her imprisonment is not a punishment but part of God’s divine mission.

“If God wants you to preach at Nsawam, will you use a phone to preach there? You have to be there in person. Even though it seems like she has been jailed for 15 years, she is there on a mission for God,” he said.

Agradaa was sentenced on July 3, 2025, by the Accra Circuit Court to 15 years in prison with hard labour, following convictions for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretense.

The legal case came following a 2022 televised broadcast in which she claimed to possess spiritual powers capable of doubling viewers’ money.

Numerous victims were deceived into giving her large sums, expecting supernatural returns that never came.

Her lawyers denounced the sentence as excessively harsh and influenced by public bias, vowing to appeal.
